If something about your order is wrong, this section explains what we will do to put it right — and why contacting us will almost always resolve it faster, and better, than a card dispute.
Every complaint gets a documented response. Depending on what went wrong:
We document every offer we make and every step of a resolution. That record protects you as much as it protects us: it is how a real problem gets fixed instead of argued about.
We ask that you contact us before filing a chargeback with your card issuer, because in almost every case we can resolve the problem faster and more completely than the dispute process can:
A chargeback exists for genuine failures — a charge you did not authorise, an order that never arrived and was never made right. It is not designed for a disagreement with a published policy, and card networks decide those disputes on the documentation both sides submit.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights. Your rights under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your card issuer's and card network's rules, and any other applicable law are yours, and no posted policy of ours can waive them. This section describes what we ask and what we do — not what you are permitted to do.
A chargeback is a formal claim made through your bank, and once one is filed the disputed transaction is decided inside the card network's process, not by our customer service team. We respond to every chargeback with complete documentation:

After a dispute resolves: if it resolves in your favour, your refund comes through your card issuer. If it resolves in ours and you have kept the products, we reserve the right to recover amounts owed. Either way, we may decline future orders from an account that has filed a chargeback against us.
The policies published on this site are the policies we follow, applied the same way to every order — compensation limits are set by policy, not negotiated call by call. If you believe we have applied a policy incorrectly, tell us: a manager reviews every claimed misapplication, and a genuine error will be corrected. What we cannot do is give one customer a different policy than every other customer gets.

BioShieldUV Inc. maintains commercial liability insurance, evidenced by an ACORD certificate of liability insurance, which ensures business liability coverage and the capability to meet the conditions of contracts that require it. Coverage is renewed annually and maintained continuously.
We do not publish policy dates on this page, because a printed date is out of date the day the policy renews. The certificate we send you shows the current policy period, the carrier, and the limits in force. A current certificate is available on request.

We will return a current certificate issued by our carrier. If your contract has specific coverage requirements, send them with your request and we will tell you plainly whether we meet them.
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless BioShieldUV Inc. and our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, interns and employees from any claim or demand, including reasonable legal fees, made by any third party arising out of your breach of these Terms or the documents they incorporate by reference, or your violation of any law or of the rights of a third party.
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, it is nonetheless enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law, and the unenforceable portion is severed without affecting the validity of the remaining provisions.
The obligations and liabilities incurred by either party before termination survive termination for all purposes. These Terms are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate them at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services, or by ceasing to use the site. If in our sole judgement you fail, or we suspect that you have failed, to comply with any term, we may terminate this agreement at any time without notice; you remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination, and we may deny you access to our Services.
Our failure to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of it. These Terms, together with any policies or operating rules we post, constitute the entire agreement between you and us and govern your use of the Service, superseding any prior agreements, communications and proposals, whether oral or written, including any prior version of these Terms. Any ambiguity in their interpretation shall not be construed against the drafting party.
These Terms of Service, and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
BioShieldUV products are NOT medical devices. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. No health claims are made regarding our products.
SL18-HVAC installation notice. The SL18-HVAC system must be installed by a licensed electrician or qualified HVAC professional. BioShieldUV Inc. is not responsible for any damage, injury or warranty voidance resulting from improper installation by unqualified individuals.
Liability cap. Our total liability is capped at the amount you actually paid to BioShieldUV for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.
Warranty and returns (summary — our Return Policy page controls the procedure). UV-C devices may be returned within 90 days of the original purchase date, in original packaging and resalable condition, with an RMA number from support. All UV-C units include a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. UV-C bulbs carry a 14-day dead-on-arrival warranty, replacement only; UV-C bulbs are not eligible for refunds under any circumstances. All warranty fulfilment is limited to replacement or repair of the defective item at our discretion; no refunds are issued for warranty claims. Warranty coverage does not extend to damage caused by misuse, unauthorised modification, improper installation, neglect, accidents or normal wear and tear, and commercial use of residential products may void it.
Guardian Club. The Guardian Club is our subscription service providing ongoing maintenance and warranty coverage for your UV-C system. Your subscription automatically renews every 10 months, and you will be charged the then-current subscription price at each renewal. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting our support team. While your membership is active it carries a lifetime warranty on the unit and a six-month replacement-only warranty on bulbs.
Binding arbitration and class action waiver. Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. Any proceeding shall be conducted solely on an individual basis; you waive any right to participate in a class action or representative proceeding.
UV-C safety information. UV-C light and its electrical installation carry real risks — skin and eye exposure, and hazards from improper wiring. Read our Installation & Safety policy before installing or servicing any UV-C product — it covers professional installation requirements, exposure risks, and what our guidance is and is not.
